Mission Statement

“What is Ruckus?”, you may ask.

Now that’s a very good question; thank you for asking.

Ruckus Magazine is an audacious online magazine that strives to enliven a community of young artists in the GTA through comprehensive coverage of exhibitions, performances and concerts. We also cover news, culture, fashion and trends that concern and affect our readers. Created by current or recently graduated students from York University, we’re reaching out to people all across the GTA to contribute to the magazine in any way possible - writers, photographers, graphic designers - give us a shout!

Just as importantly, Ruckus hosts regular events that encourage participation from student artists of all kinds: poets, musicians, filmmakers - maybe even custom button designers. Our reading series at the Tranzac Club downtown has so far been a great success. We invite you to come to one of our events and enjoy local art, and perhaps a delightful lemon square.
